SELAS STUDIOS IS AN ARTIST-LED INDEPENDENT ENTERTAINMENT STUDIO ILLUMINATING EXTRAORDINARY STORIES, BUILDING ENDURING WORLDS, AND CHAMPIONING THE NEXT GENERATION OF VISIONARY STORYTELLERS.
SELAS Studios is an independent entertainment studio dedicated to illuminating the world’s most extraordinary stories. Inspired by the ancient Greek word selas, meaning “light,” the studio was founded on the belief that exceptional storytelling can illuminate truth, inspire hope, and connect audiences across cultures and generations.
Founded by writer, producer, and entrepreneur Steve Nguyen, SELAS Studios develops premium original intellectual property across film, television, animation, interactive entertainment, and emerging media. Artist-driven and globally minded, the studio is building an expanding slate of original properties designed to become enduring franchises, beginning with its inaugural feature film, The Island, produced in partnership with Fade To Black Films. Nguyen also serves in Production on UNITED, the historical drama television series created by David Raymond.
As the flagship entertainment company within the broader SELAS ecosystem, SELAS Studios is building a modern independent studio for the next generation of storytelling—championing bold creators, embracing innovation, and creating globally resonant stories with lasting cultural impact. Its long-term vision is to build timeless original franchises that entertain audiences, inspire generations of storytellers, and endure for the next century.
